The Harbour at Picton Bay is a sustainably designed waterfront community in Prince Edward County. Located on a sheltered harbour in the small historic town of Picton, the community is just a quick stroll away from downtown Picton’s numerous bookstores, cafes, restaurants, galleries, theatres and shops. The Harbour at Picton Bay will offer residents the rare opportunity to combine a sustainable, urban lifestyle with the slower pleasures of country living.


This innovative community of townhomes is being developed by One Development, as manager of the RPDI fund, in conjunction with its local partner Sandbanks Homes. Located in the sheltered enclave of Picton Bay, the development will provide the quiet serenity of country living, yet residents will be within easy walking distance of all their daily needs.  By bike or by car, Prince Edward County’s bucolic delights are easily accessible.  The county is renowned for its world class wineries, sand beaches and sailing, and is home to a thriving community of artists. In recent years the region has become a major culinary destination, with numerous chef-owned restaurants showcasing locally grown food.


The Harbour at Picton Bay will feature a high level of sustainable design. Its urban location in the centre of town reduces the need for travel by car. Shading strategies, natural cross ventilation and building envelope design will reduce heating and cooling loads.  Each townhome will include energy efficient fixtures and equipment to provide ongoing energy savings and water conservation.   Interiors will feature environmentally friendly finishes and energy recovery ventilation to provide a healthier indoor environment.


Each two or three-storey townhome features spectacular harbour views with boat slips available right at their front doors  The design will provide spacious and contemporary two to four-bedroom floor plans with upgraded finishes,  outdoor terraces and decks.  Landscaped grounds will provide direct access to the waterfront and the marina.  Currently in the early design stage, the project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.
